Lemon Juice – Its Uses For Your Health

The juice obtained from lemons has very important health benefits, some of them known for a very long time. Lemonade is considered a refreshing drink, but its uses are far beyond this. The essential oil obtained from this fruit is considered to have an important role in cooling the body. This is the reason why a good homemade remedy in case of fever is a cup of lemonade mixed with water and sugar. You can even make a hand cream by mixing lemon pulp with a little water and some glycerin. Lemon has other qualities as well. For instance, studies have shown that lemon juice vaporized in the air plays an important role in neutralizing some bacteria, like meningococcus, typhoid, pneumococcus and staphylococcus within a duration of maximum one hour and a half.

The lemon juice action against bacteria was also discovered when put on some foods prone to contract some bacteria, like raw oysters. In such cases, it is advisable to let the lemon juice work for about fifteen minutes and this way, you will get rid of unwanted bacteria from your food.

On a regular basis, lemon juice is used to prevent infection or as a tonic in cases of cold or flu. When you make lemon juice, choose fruit that are fresh, without signs of wither. Mix the juice with water and drink it. It has a good taste and it helps you keep your health.
